I am so excited about these that I can't even type straight!  After nearly a year of waiting, I finally found the set-only Micro Scalextric Disney/Pixar CARS2 slot cars "loose" on Ebay, and they arrived from the UK today!  Pictured are Nigel Gearsley, Shu Todoroki and Lightning McQueen in World Grand Prix livery.  These are not available in the US, or even in North America as far as I can tell. As I may have mentioned before, I have a "thing" for old aircooled VWs.  I've owned a couple of 1:1 versions, but the one I had the longest was a 1971 Type 3 Squareback ("Variant" elsewhere in the world).  So of course when I saw this on Ebay, I knew I had to have it! I haven't been around much lately, but I have been busy!  These are two of my latest customs, Mack and the King's hauler from Disney/Pixar's CARS.  I made the trucks themselves about a year ago, using CARS Mini-Adventure plastic toys and combining them with AFX and XT truck chassis,and had pix in my gallery here before the big (server) crash of 2011.  The trailers are new. And now for something completely different!

This is my latest acquisition, a Tyco Turbo Train freight train.  I've wanted one of these for quite a while, and finally managed to snag one.  It's complete, with an extra BN "boxcar," and came with another Santa Fe engine and a chrome engine and end unit.  Haven't tried to run it yet, but between the three engines I have enough parts to make up at least one working unit. I figured it was time to test-drive the new site, and thought I'd post a blog about my latest acquisiton.  Yes, it's another Disney/Pixar CARS set from Mattel, based on the upcoming sequel, "CARS 2."  As before, it's basically Tyco track with Tyco chassis and a battery-pack power source; but really it's all about the cars!  This set features Lightning McQueen in his new World Grand Prix livery, and his new rival, Francesco Bernoulli.
