Can Readers Contribute the Car of the Day?
Submitted by mgbbrown on Sat, 08/30/2008 - 09:07.Ray; Can reader's be added to contribute entries to Car of the Day which of course be selected by the administrator? Sort of like a daily slot car concours if you will? I would certainly like to participate by showing off my vintage ride. You could desplay all entries and readers could vote as well, making the feature more interesting. What do you think Sir? God Bless! Enjoy those friends this week-end! mgbbrown
Absolutely!
Submitted by Admin on Tue, 09/02/2008 - 14:36.I've held off for a couple of reasons - I'm trying to setup a scheduled post so we can queue up a bunch of cars so they are ready to go without actually having to maintain it on a day to day basis. In the meantime, let me know if you are able to add a child page here, if so please go forth and do. Remember, you can also show off all your cars in the wiki. Look under the Aurora/Xlerators section for examples. Thanks!
I've lost my COTD..!!!
Submitted by Aussie Ho on Mon, 11/10/2008 - 07:19.Ray. Some of my posts to COTD for this month have vanished. I'm sure it's totally something my doing...??? I canny find 'em !!
Now now
Submitted by Admin on Mon, 11/10/2008 - 13:30.My good friend, nothing is ever "lost" really. The only car I found that was lost was the Mustang COTD from yesterday. Here's what happens:
For car of the day submissions, go ahead and write them all up but change the publishing options and uncheck the "published" box. I will edit and schedule it for the next available date in the future and get it lined up in the queue. At this time I also schedule to "unpublish" it the following day when the next COTD gets published. This automates the process for me and allows me to line up many COTDs for the future so I don't have to maintain it daily. Also, leaving the future COTDs unpublished until their day in the spotlight helps keep it a surprise for everyone else. Once a car has been COTD and gets unpublished, it is temporararily unavailable until I remove it from the front page and push it over to the COTD book. Your Mustang is now there.
If you "lost" any other cars, please let me know which ones!!
